How do I change the name servers associated with my domain name?

Name Servers control how a domain name is resolved. In most cases, you have to use the Name Servers of your hosting company.

If your domain name is hosted with Aplus.Net, your name servers should be the following:

Primary: ns1.abac.com

Secondary: ns2.abac.com

You can change the name servers associated with your domain name using our web-based Control Panels.

NOTE: Please have in mind that if your domain name is not registered with Aplus.Net/Names4Ever.com, you will need to contact the current registrar of the domain in order to change its nameservers.

I. If you have an Aplus.Net account (starts with “AP”) associated with your domain name registration, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Start by logging to the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net. Use your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Domains from the top navigation bar, then click on Domain Registrations.
  3. On the Domain Registrations page, click the name of the domain you’d like to manage.
  1. On the following page, click on the Manage Name Servers icon.
  2. On the Manage Name Servers page, specify the host names (not the IP addresses) of the name servers that you’d like to associate with this domain. You must specify at least two name servers.
  1. Click Modify to save the new nameservers.

Note: Please keep in mind that all Nameserver changes my take up to 48 hours to take effect.

II. If you have a Names4Ever.com account (consists of numbers only) associated with your domain name registration, please follow the instructions below:

*Single Updates:

  1. Start by logging into the Names4Ever Control Panel at http://cp.names4ever.com. Use your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Click the Domain Management icon.
  3. Check the box next to the domain name you’d like to manage.
  4. Click the Manage Nameservers button.
  5. Review the selection and click Proceed.
  6. Remove all name servers that are currently associated with your domain name.
  7. Then, enter the new nameservers (one by one) in the Hostname text field.
  8. Click Add to save the new nameserver. (Please do not forget to add at least two nameservers for your domain name).

Note: Please keep in mind that all Nameserver changes my take up to 48 hours to take effect.

*Bulk Updates:

  1. Start by logging into the Names4Ever Control Panel at http://cp.names4ever.com using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select the Domain Management icon. You will be redirected to a summary table that contains all your registered domain names.
  3. Select the domain names that you’d like to manage.
  4. Click the Manage Nameservers button.
  5. Review the selection and click Proceed.
  6. Enter the new nameservers hostnames in the respective text fields.
  7. Click Modify Name Servers to save the changes.

Important: This tool will remove all your existing nameserver records of the selected domains before applying the new nameservers. Please keep in mind that all Nameserver changes my take up to 48 hours to take effect.
