At
Aplus.Net, we work hard to make sure that the web services that
you have purchased with us are fully
functionally shortly after you set up a web hosting account with
us. Approximately 10 minutes after your account is established with
us, you will be able to access your web directory on one of our web
servers. Here’s how you can work and interact with that web
space:
Via the Control Panel:
One good place to start is by logging in to your web-based Control
Panel. Point your browser to: http://cp.aplus.net and
log in using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
You will be able to access most of your web tools immediately. Some features that depend on a registered domain name, like e-mail
accounts, will not be fully functional until your domain name settings
have fully propagated.
Using a Web Browser:
You can view the contents of your html/ directory by pointing
a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, etc.) to
your utility domain.
For most of our Unix-based
plans (Personal Unix, Business Class Unix, Pro, and eCommerce Unix), your utility domain can be
accessed with the following address: http://ftpusername.web.aplus.net
For most of our Windows-based
plans (Personal Windows, Business Class Windows, Pro Windows, and eCommerce Windows), your utility domain
can be accessed with the following address: http://ftpusername.win.aplus.net
(Replace ‘ftpusername’ in
the address above with your actual FTP user name and you’ll
have the address for your own personal utility domain.)
Via FTP:
Finally, you can access your web space via FTP using your utility
domain as well. If your domain name has not yet resolved, you will
need to point your FTP client to the address of your utility domain
(see above). You can always
log-in to this space using your FTP username and FTP password.
Keep in mind that even though your
web space is “ready in 10 minutes”, your domain name
registration can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate. You will
not be able to access your web space via your domain name until this
propagation and registration has completed.
