Email
Forwarders automatically transfer email messages from one designated
address to any other existing email box. For example, you could use an
Email Forwarder to ensure that messages sent to forwardme@aplus.net
would be automatically delivered to inbox@aplus.net.
However,
it is important to note that an Email Forwarder will not work if you
attempt to forward emails to an address which also forwards emails to
another destination. In that case, you need to change the destination
email address in the Email Forwarder to the final destination email
address.
Note:
The Aplus.Net Control Panel will not allow you to create two email
objects (boxes, forwarders, lists, or groups) that have the same
username. If you try to create an Email Forwarder that has the same
name as an email account, the Control Panel will return an error
message. To
create an Email Forwarder that has the same name as an email account,
you must either:
- use
the Convert to E-mail Forwarder
tool or
- delete
manually the email box and then create a new Email Forwarder with the
same name.
However,
you can create an Email Forwarder which forwards to more than one email
address. To achieve that separate the forward-to-email-addresses with
comma.
Here
is how you can set an Email Forwarder using the Aplus.Net Control Panel:
- Start
by logging into the Aplus.Net Web Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Select
the Emails link from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
select Email Forwarders and click on Create
Email Forwarder.
- Enter
the forwarder’s email address into the eMail
Address text field.
- Select
the domain you want associated with this e-mail address using the available
drop-down menu.
- Enter
the e-mail address that you’d like to receive the forwarded
messages into the Forward-to-Address text field.
You can enter here multiple email addresses separated by a comma.
- Click
Create to set up the Email Forwarder.
Click Cancel to escape.
