What is the ebay request token?

Answer by:  George Kaloyanov, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

In order to use the eBay Connector™ Module to list your Miva products on eBay, you must have a valid eBay Request Token. The request token is required by eBay, so that 3rd party applications or services can authenticate an eBay user, without revealing any personal user information such as your eBay User ID and Password.

Important: If you do not have an Aplus.Net’s hosting plan and bought the Aplus.Net’s eBay Connector™ module from MivaCentral.Com, please login to your Miva administration pages with your current hosting provider and skip to Step 7.

Here’s how to find your eBay Request Token and configure your eBay Connector™ Module using it:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Now, select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
  5. Click on the Marketing tab.
  6. Finally, select the eBay Connector™ from the body of the following page. You will be redirected to the Miva Administration pages.

Note: Make sure your Miva Administration is set to Advanced Administration Mode.

  1. Now, click on the arrow next to Stores located in the left panel of the Miva Administration screen.
  2. Next, click on the arrow next to the name of your Miva Merchant store to view the available options.
  3. Click on the utilities option of your store. Then, make sure that the eBay Connector™ check box is checked.
  4. Next, click on the eBay link located in the Modules section of the Store Utility Configuration screen.
  5. Click on the Get a request token link. You’ll be transferred to an eBay login page.
  6. Next, login using your eBay User ID and password.

Note: Upon a successful login, you will see the eBay instructions and details about the actions the eBay Connector™ will be able to perform on your behalf. If you agree to grant the eBay Connector™ those rights, you will be redirected to the page containing your token and its expiration date and time.

  1. Copy and paste your eBay Request Token code into the eBay.Com Request Token field in your Miva eBay Connector™ module configuration screen.
  2. Finally, click the Update button to configure your eBay Connector™ module.

Note: When the eBay Request Token's expiration time comes, you will not be able to list items to eBay using the eBay Connector™. Simply repeat the procedure listed above to get a new token.

Note: These instructions assume you already have your Miva Store created, your eBay Connector™ module installed and your eBay Member & Seller accounts registered. Please, click here for detailed instructions on how to install your eBay Connector™ module and register eBay Member & Seller accounts.
