The
first MySQL database that you create with your hosting plan will
be set to match your Main FTP Username. The additional MySQL databases
that you might create, will be named using the Main FTP Username
too
Example:
If your main FTP username is “johndoe” and you have created
3 MySQL databases, they will be named as follows:
-
First Database
(Main MySQL Database) – Both the MySQL Database Name and MySQL
Database Username will be set to: johndoe
-
Second Database – Both
the MySQL Database Name and MySQL Database Username will
be set to: johndoe-1
-
Third Database – Both
the MySQL Database Name and MySQL Database Username will
be set to: johndoe-2
Important:
With Aplus.Net, you can have an FTP username of up to 16 characters.
If your Main FTP Username contains more than 14 characters
(For example: 15 or 16 characters long), all your MySQL Databases
will share a single MySQL Database Username and Password. For example
if your Main FTP Username is stephenwilliams, all your MySQL
databases will share the same Database Username -> stephenwilliams. Furthermore,
when creating additional
databases, if you provide a new password (different from your current
database password), the new password will be set as your MySQL Database
password for all databases. These rules apply only to hosting plans
with 15 or 16 characters long Main FTP Username.
Note:
The “test” database available in your MySQL Database
Management tool (phpMyAdmin) is shared between all users on your
shared hosting server. This database is not assigned to your personal
hosting plan. The data stored in that database is not secured and
can be emptied at any time. Please, do not use that database to store
your actual data.
