What is Domain Monitor?

Answer by: Kristen Jourdonais, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Domain Monitor is a service available through the domain name sign-up form with your .com or .net domain name registration. Domain Monitor sends you notification via e-mail if any of the following attributes of the domain name being monitored have changed:

  • Domain Name Servers - DNS, hosting provider changes
  • Registrar  - The domain has been transferred to another registrar
  • Status - The domain has been put on hold, lock, etc.
  • Expiration date - The domain has been renewed, expired, etc.

You may also choose to "monitor" any .com or .net domain, regardless of whether you own the domain or not.

For example: If you choose to monitor “Aplus.Net” and the domain is renewed upon expiration, the Domain Watch service will notify you of this domain renewal.
