The
Archive Manager is a website file backup tool.
The
Archive manager makes a single archive file in ZIP, TAR or TAR.GZ format
that will contain all of the files in the directory you select. The
extension of the file will be .zip, .tar or .tar.gz.
Note:
.tar and .tar.gz extensions are supported on the Unix-based hosting
plans only.
You
can use archived files as backups, and use them in case your files
are damaged, corrupted or unintentionally overwritten. For example,
if you make changes to your site, but then decide you do not like
those changes, you can retrieve the old files from the archive.
When
you create an archive, it will use the current time and date for
the filename. The archive file will also be smaller than the total
size of your files because the data is automatically compressed as
the archive is created.
