This document introduces some of the tools
which enable you to manage and use your Aplus.Net shared hosting
account. It contains useful instructions on updating your domain
settings, uploading your web site files and managing your account
information.
DOMAIN NAME
If you have submitted a new domain name
for registration with Aplus.Net, please allow up to 24 hours for
this domain to become active within your hosting account. The activation
time depends on the responsiveness of the Global Registry and is
beyond our control. In the meantime, you can use your utility
domain (see below) which allows you to begin work on your
web site immediately after the account is paid for:
- Utility
Domain for UNIX-based shared hosting plans - ftpusername.web.aplus.net (please replace “ftpusername” with
the FTP username associated with your hosting plan).
- Utility
Domain for WINDOWS-based shared hosting plans - ftpusername.win.aplus.net (please
replace “ftpusername” with the FTP username associated
with your hosting plan).
Here’s how you can upload your website
to the Aplus.Net shared hosting servers:
If your hosted domain name is registered
with another registrar company, please make sure that you contact
them and request your domain DNS records to point to Aplus.Net’s Name
Servers:
- Primary
Name Server: ns1.abac.com
- Secondary
Name Server: ns2.abac.com
Once this is done, your web site should
start resolving to your domain name within 48 hours.

CONTROL PANEL
We have centralized all management functions related to your account
in a single user-friendly interface. You can log into your Control
Panel by logging to http://cp.aplus.net with
your Registration Number and Account Password. In the Control Panel
you will find many valuable tools developed to assist you in designing
and marketing your website. Additional information on how to use the
tools available in the Control Panel can be found in our Knowledge
Base. Go to http://apluskb.com and ask your question including
the name of the specific tool you are interested in.
EMAIL
Your new email accounts will become active
once your hosted domain name has been successfully registered or
transferred. Once this happens, you can simply log into the Control
Panel at http://cp.aplus.net and click on the Email tab
to add and configure your accounts. We also provide you with a web-based
interface to check your email which can be accessed by going to http://mail.yourdomain.com (please
replace “yourdomain.com” with your hosted domain name).
