A
top level domain (TLD) is the "suffix" or the end of each
domain name. (e.g., the ".net" in www.aplus.net is the
TLD.) There are two types of TLDs - global and country code.
- Global Top Level Domains are: .com, .net, .org, .eu, .edu, .mil,
.gov, .biz, .name, .info.
- Country code Top Level Domains are TLDs created by a country,
such as .it, which is the country code for Italy or .tv whish is
the country code for Tuvalu.

Important:
.EU Domains can be registered by:
- A company, office, central
administration, or principal place of business established within
the European Community. Companies registering .eu domains would
have to provide their respective VAT Number.
- Residents within the
European Community.
- Organizations established
within the European Community.
