Using FrontPage, how can I create a link to a file which will open in a new window?

Answer by: Frédérique Taillefer, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

Here’s how:

  1. Start by opening your web page in FrontPage.
  2. Type the text that you would like displayed on your page, which users will click on to access your linked document (example: Click here for this week’s schedule)
  3. Select the text you just wrote, right-click and select Hyperlink from the popup menu. An Insert Hyperlink window will open.
  4. In the address field, type the URL of the file that you are linking to.
  5. Next, click the Target Frame button.
  6. In the Target Frame window, select New Window from the list displayed, and then click OK.
  7. You have now successfully created a link to your file, which will open in a new browser window!
