My Java compiler cannot find the Netscape classes. Why?

 First, ensure that java_301 is in your CLASSPATH. Many compilers, VMs, and other tools require the filename of archived classes to end with .ZIP (mostly on Win32 platforms). You can copy the file to (or link it from) java_301.ZIP and add the .ZIP in your CLASSPATH.

Also, some IDE's are a bit awkward. You might extract the classes into one of your CLASS directory trees.
