Text and Graphic Alignment

It is important that text and graphics be aligned. Haphazardly placing page elements (like text and graphics), without regard for flow and consistency, will ensure visitor confusion and promote a hasty exit.

Align page elements to help focus your visitor's attention to areas of importance:

1.      Used sparingly, lines, boxes and other graphic "helpers" can steer your viewers in the right direction. These components, however, must be aligned.

2.      Follow alignment conventions used in printed media. Typically this means left justified text, the use of columns or paragraphs for large text areas, and the strategic placement of graphics to enhance the written word.

3.      Aside from the justification and alignment tags, you can also use tables as an organizational tool for added control over your text and graphic content

NOTE: The most important rule in web design is that your website be easy to read!
