Question categories:  Domain Registration

I utilize domain forwarding services, and would like my domain to stay in the address field after being forwarded. Is this possible?

Answer by: George Kaloyanov, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Unfortunately, this is not possible with the URL forwarding service.

If you want your forwarded domain to stay in the address bar you have to use a DNS service and to request a CNAME record to be set for your forwarded domain name (Example: If you want to forward myforwardeddomain.com to mydomain.com, you have to request a CNAME record to be set for myforwardeddomain.com to point to mydomian.com). In order to request a CNAME record, please contact our Technical support team by phone at +1 858 410 6900 (toll free), +1 888 301 2516 for international callers or by email at . Please, include your Registration number, the Answer to your Challenge Question and the details about the CNAME record that you need to be set.

Note: The forwarding with a CNAME record works only if that is supported from your hosting company for the domain name that you try to forward to. Please contact your hosting company to check if it will be possible to forward another domain name to your original hosted domain using a CNAME record.
