I have a dedicated server. How do i purchase a commercial ssl certificate for a domain name hosted on my server using the aplus.net control panel?

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a protocol designed to enable encrypted, authenticated connection across the Internet. SSL is used mostly in communication between web browsers and web servers. URL's that begin with 'https' indicate that an SSL connection will be used. Online shopping sites frequently use SSL technology to safeguard credit card information. In order to use the SSL protocol you need to have an SSL certificate which is used for the server authentication, data encryption, and message integrity checks. Commercial SSL certificates are issued by official Certificate Authorities as is the case with the certificate offered by Aplus.Net.

You can purchase SSL certificates signed by an official Certificate Authority using the Aplus.Net Control Panel. Once the order is approved and the certificate is issued, you will be able to download the respective certificate files and install the certificate on your dedicated server.

Here is how to purchase an SSL certificate:

Start by logging to the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password..
Select Dedicated Servers from the top navigation bar and click on the Secure Server Certificates submenu.
Next, click Buy a Secure Certificate.
Choose the desired plan and click the respective Sign Up Now button.
On the Subscribe screen you have to specify:

The time period for which the certificate will be valid – choose one, two, or three years using the corresponding radio buttons.
The exact domain name you are issuing the certificate for.

Important: If you want the SSL Certificate to be issued for www.yourdomain.com instead of just yourdomain.com, please enter your domain with the www. prefix. If you have selected the SSL 1MIL Multi plan, enter your domain after the initial wildcard (*.)
