Question categories:  Domain Registration

I don't have DNS Server. Can I use Aplus.NET DNS Servers?

Answer by: George Kaloyanov, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

GLOSSARY:

*A Record: An “A” Record, short for Address Record, maps from a domain name or subdomain to an IP address. An “A” record is also referred to as a host or hostname. For example, you can use an "A record" to designate yourdomain.com to send traffic to your web site at IP address 209.15.32.135. You can designate abc.yourdomain.com to go to a separate IP address.

*MX Record: A “MX” Record, short for Mail Exchange Record, is used to define the email server(s) willing to accept mails for a given domain name.

*CNAME Record: A CNAME record or Canonical Name Record makes one domain name or subdomain an alias of another.

Important: If you’d like to use Aplus.Net’s DNS servers to control your DNS Records (A, MX and CNAME records), please point your domain name to ns1.abac.com and ns2.abac.com.

I. Domain Registration:

If you have just a domain name registration with Aplus.Net / Names4ever.Com and want to use our DNS servers to control your DNS records (Example: A, MX and CNAME records), you will have to open a new DNS Service plan for your registered domain name, which will cost you $5.95 per year. You can sign for the DNS service using your Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net. Login using your Registration Number and Account password, and then use the Buy Services section (Buy Services -> Domain Names -> Custom DNS Service). Please contact our friendly Technical Support Team by phone at 1-888-301-2516 (Toll Free) or 1-858-410-6900 (For International Callers) if you need further assistance.

If you already have a DNS Service plan and you want to modify your records in our DNS servers, please follow the instructions available in the Knowledge Base document below:

II. Shared Hosting:

In addition, you may request to sign up for additional DNS service plans for other domains you may host on your dedicated server.
