When
attempting to connect your website to a database in FrontPage (in
the Web Settings option of the Tools menu), you might see the following
message: “The FrontPage database features are not available
for one of the following reasons….”
You
are most probably seeing this error because you are attempting to
create a database connection with an Aplus.Net UNIX-based shared
hosting account. A database connection with FrontPage can only be
created if your site is hosted on a Windows-based shared hosting
plan. Indeed, in addition to the FrontPage Server Extensions (which
are available on most of our UNIX-based shared hosting accounts),
FrontPage database features require a hosting server running Active
Server Pages (ASP), which is not the case of Aplus.Net’s UNIX
servers.
If
you wish to use FrontPage and connect to a database, please contact
our friendly Sales Department to inquire about our Windows-based
shared hosting plans. Representatives are available 24/7 at (877)
275-8763 or (858) 410-6929 for International callers.
