You
are experiencing this issue because the DNS entries in your dial-up
connection settings need to be updated. Here’s how:
1. To start the process, find and double-click the "My Computer" icon
on your desktop to open up the My Computer window
2. When you have opened the My Computer window, double-click the “Dial-Up
Networking” icon as shown below. If you do not see
the “Dial-Up Networking” icon, then go to our tutorial
- ”Installing Dial Up Networking"
3. In the “Dial-Up Networking” window, right-click your Aplus.Net
/ ABAC dial-up connection icon. It is an icon with a graphic
of 2 computers on it, connected by a wire.
4. Next, select "Properties". The “Properties” window
will open up and look like this:
5. Select the second tab named "Server Types" to
access the following window:
6. Go to the "TCP/IP Settings" button, and the DNS
information will appear: if you are experiencing problems browsing
the Internet and using your e-mail although you are connected, you
current settings probably read:
Primary: 216.55.128.4 -- Secondary: 216.55.144.4
Your new settings should read:
· Primary: 216.55.128.7
· Secondary: 216.55.144.5
7. Exit the dial-up networking settings.
NOTE:
This tutorial is designed for Windows 95/98 users. Windows XP/2000
users should not experience issues due to incorrect DNS settings.
