You
can use the Redirect URL tool in the Aplus.Net
Control Panel to redirect any page in your current website to any other
page. Here’s how:
I.
NEW URL REDIRECTION:
- Start
by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Select
Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
select Hosted Domains and click on Manage
Hosted Domains.
- Now,
select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
- Click
the Redirect URL icon.
- Select
the directory that contains the page that you’d like to
redirect from the Select the website location to redirect
drop-down menu.
- From
the Select the file to redirect for the location drop-down
menu, specify the page that will be redirected. If you leave this
blank, the entire directory you have already selected will be
redirected.
- Next,
specify the destination of the redirect using the Enter the
redirection destination URL text field. The destination page
should be entered as a full URL, e.g. http://www.aplus.net/.
- Select
the redirection type. You have two options here:
- 301 Moved Permanantly (recommended) - the resource
has been permanently moved to a new location. This is the most
efficient and Search Engine friendly webpage redirection.
- 302 Moved Temporarily - the resource has
been temporarily moved to a new location. This redirection type is not
recommended, if you are interested in the position of your website in
search engine result pages.
- Click
Create Redirection to implement the
redirect.
II.
MANAGE REDIRECTIONS:
Use
this section to select a Redirection you have already created. Then,
you can edit or remove it.

III.
GLOBAL REDIRECTION:
In
this section you can create a global redirection for your domain name
which concerns the www prefix. You have three
options here:
- To
create a global redirection from yourdomain.com to
www.yourdomain.com. Thus, website visitors
who type yourdomain.com will be redirected to http://www.yourdomain.com.
- To
create a global redirection from www.yourdomain.com to
yourdomain.com. Thus, website visitors who
type www.yourdomain.com will be redirected to http://yourdomain.com.
- Not
to create a global redirection. Thus, website visitors will go to the
exact URL they have requested.
Note:
Please have in mind that Global Redirection will be active only when
website visitors type yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com
in their browsers. If a particular file or subdirectory
is requested, the Global Redirection will not work.
