With
Aplus.Net’s powerful Smart Backup service plan, a dedicated
server owner can select specific directories located on his / her
server to be backed up automatically every single day.
Smart
Backup work flow:
- The
Smart Backup plan owner selects the directories
that will be backed up.
- The
initial full backup is created on the same
day that the owner associates the directories with the Smart Backup
plan.
- Aplus.Net
will do incremental backup jobs every single day on
the directories that are selected.
- Important:
All directories and files that have changed since the last full backup
or incremental backup will be backed up during the incremental backup
job.
- If
you don’t need the daily incremental backups, they can be
disabled.
- Each
Saturday the previous full backup and all
incremental backups created since the previous full backup
will be consolidated in a new full backup.
- This
schedule repeats every single week with the daily incremental backup
jobs and the consolidation backup job on Saturday.
Important:
All backup jobs are separate and the data will be stored on
Aplus.Net’s backup servers for 8 days. An incremental backup
job data is stored for 8 days or until the full backup that it is
associated with expires.
Example:
- Customer
signs for the Smart Backup plan on Monday and chooses the directories
to be backed up.
- The
initial full backup job is created on Monday.
- Monday
through Friday – An incremental backup job is performed every
single day. Anything changed since the previous backup job is backed up
in the daily incremental backup.
- Saturday
– A Consolidation backup job is processed. The Monday full
backup is consolidated with all daily incremental backups performed
Monday through Friday.
- Saturday
through Friday - An incremental backup job is performed every single
day. Anything changed since the previous backup job is backed up in the
daily incremental backup.
- Saturday
– A Consolidation backup job is performed. The previous
Saturday full backup is consolidated with all daily incremental backups
performed Saturday through Friday.
- Cycle
loops the last two steps.
