How does eStara’s “Push To Talk” work?

Answer by: Stuart Pierce, Knowledge  Base Support

Push to Talk is an HTML link embedded in your website. The HTML code is associated with the chosen destination telephone number that rings into your Call Center Agents. When a caller clicks on the button or phone number, a pop-up box is displayed instructing the caller to connect to your Call Center through one of two ways: Talk by Phone or Talk by PC.

Important: You can host the Push-to-Talk button on a website hosted with Aplus.Net only.

  • Talk by Phone

There is a field for the caller to enter their phone number. The caller simply enters the phone number where they want to be reached, and the Push to Talk application dials the caller, an audio file is played to the caller prompting them to hold while the call is connected to your Call Center.

  • Talk by PC

This option includes a self-executing application that is downloaded to the caller’s PC allowing a caller to talk to your Call Center Agent via PC microphone and speakers. The Push to Talk application will automatically detect for the presence of a microphone and speakers before completing the web voice call.
