WebsiteCreator is a simple-to-use content management tool which offers
many template choices and a short, step-by-step design process. Best of
all, no HTML skills are required to build and maintain a professional
looking website.
Here
are the general steps to include on your website a downloadable link to
any type of file:
I.
ACCESS THE WEBSITECREATOR:
- Start
by logging to your Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration number and Customer
password.
- Select
Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
select Hosted Domains and click on Manage
Hosted Domains.
- Select
the hosted domain name that you’d like to manage.
- Click
the Design tab.
- Now,
click the WSC Website Builder icon.
Important:
You will have to activate your Free WebsiteCreator plan,
if it is not yet activated. Please allow up to 60 minutes for the
activation process. Return to the WSC Website Builder tool once your
new plan is activated.
- Click
on the administer link associated with your
current WebsiteCreator service plan. You will be automatically logged
into your WebsiteCreator.
II.
ADD A DOWNLOADABLE LINK TO A SPECIFIC FILE:
Important:
You have first to upload the file in question to your FTP space. For
the Unix-based hosting plans you have to upload to the html directory
or to any of its subdirectories. For the Windows-based hosting plans
upload to the WWWROOT directory or to any of its
subdirectories.
- Click
the Create / Edit site button.
- Choose
the location of the downloadable link and mark this area with the mouse.
- Right-click
with the mouse over the marked area and select Edit text.
- Now,
mark the exact text area to include the link.
- Click
on the Link button from the menu at the top.
- Select
External using the respective
radio-button.
- Type
in the URL of your file. For example, http://yourdomain.com/my_biography.doc.
- Check
the box next to Open in new window, if you want the
file to be displayed in a new browser window.
- Finally,
click OK.
III.
PUBLISH YOUR WEBSITE:
- Simply
click the Publish button to have your designed
website uploaded to your Aplus.Net Hosting Server.
