The
Surveys feature of TikiWiki can be used to poll the opinion of users to
your site. You can create surveys using different question formats
which are explained in the document below. Here is how to
enable/disable the Surveys feature of TikiWiki using the Aplus.Net
Control Panel:
- Start
by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Select
Websites from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
select Hosting Domains and click on Manage
Hosting Domains.
- Now,
select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
- Click
on the Design tab.
- Click
on the Tiki Wiki icon.
- Go
to the Features tab.
- Use
the respective radio buttons to enable/disable the Surveys feature.
- With
the Anonymous View checkbox you can set whether or
not anonymous users will be able to browse your surveys.
- Click
Modify to save the changes.
Now,
you have enabled the Surveys feature of your TikiWiki. You can see
below how you can create a survey, check the statistics from the
surveys taken, and set permissions for other users to view statistics
and/or take surveys. To proceed with the management, click on the
respective Manage button in the Control Panel. The
other option would be to go to: http://yourdomain.com/twiki and to
login as user admin using your administrative
password (please make sure to replace
“yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name).
CREATE
A NEW SURVEY:
- Expand
the Surveys menu and click on Admin
surveys.
- A
form to create a new survey will be displayed.
Note:
If the Survey Status is closed, users will not be
able to take the survey. You can close a survey at a later stage too.
- Once
you have filled in the form, please do not forget to click the Save
button.
- Now,
click on the questions link from the
“action” section to add questions to your survey.
- After
you enter your Question and select its Position,
you have to select the Question Type:
- One
choice – the options will be displayed as radio buttons and
the user will be able to choose only one option. Use the Options
text field to list the available answers separated
by a comma.
- Multiple
choices – the options will be displayed as checkboxes and the
user will be able to choose one, some, or all options. Use the Options
text field to list the available answers separated
by a comma.
- Short
text – an input text box will be displayed where users can
type. TikiWiki will store all answers and list them in the stats. If
two users enter the same text, it will be displayed only once,
indicating the number of users who entered the text.
- Rate
(1…5) – the question topic can be rated from 1 to
5 using radio buttons.
- Rate
(1…10) – the question topic can be rated from 1 to
10 using radio buttons.
- Finally,
click Save.
CHECK
SURVEYS STATS:
- Click
on Surveys from the left navigation.
- Click
the stats link from the
“actions” section of the respective survey.
- There
is a clear stats button available, if you want to
reset the answers you have.
SET
SURVEYS PERMISSIONS:
- Click
on Surveys >> Admin Surveys in the
left navigation to see the list of available surveys.
- Click
on the perms link in the
“action” section of the desired survey.
- Now,
you can assign specific permissions for the groups you have created, as
well as for the two default groups: Anonymous and Registered.
Note:
Users can take a survey only once while there is no limit for user admin.
If you allow Anonymous users to take a survey, they will be able to do
that many times by clearing their cookies. If you want to make sure
that a user will take a survey only once, make Surveys available to
Registered users only.
Note:
The tiki_p_admin_surveys is a
“master” permission which automatically includes
the other permissions for Surveys.
