This
article explains how you can upload your website files using the
Windows Vista Network Location tool. It could be partucularly useful,
if you are using Internet Explorer 7 which does not have FTP capabilities.
- Select the Windows Vista Start button and go
to Computer.
- Right-click on Computer
and select Add
a Network Location.
- The Add
Network Location Wizard will open. Click Next.
- Select Choose
a custom network location and click Next.
- In the "Internet or network address" text field, type
in ftp://yourdomain.com.
Please make sure to replace "yourdomain.com" with your actual hosted
domain name. Click Next.
- Make sure that the "Log on anonymously" checkbox is
NOT selected. Type in your main
FTP username in the "User name" text field. Click Next.
- Enter a name for this FTP network place and click Next.
- Click Finish
to complete the setup of your FTP network
location.
You
will be asked to enter your FTP
Password when logging on.
- You can open your FTP network location anytime by
clicking on
its name in "Network Locations".
- In order to upload your website files from your local
computer to the Aplus.Net hosting server, simply copy the files you
want to upload and paste them into your network location directory.
Actually, you can move files back in forth in the same way that you
move files around in Windows Explorer.
