how do i transfer a website from a different host to yours?

This document explains the general steps you have to perform to transfer an existing website from your previous host to Aplus.Net:

1. Subscribe for a hosting plan with Aplus.Net (http://hosting.aplus.net or contact our Sales Support Team over the phone: 1-877-275-8763 toll free or 1-858-410-6929 for international callers).
2. Once your hosting plan is setup and active, add your domain name to your new hosting plan with Aplus.Net:

3. Download all of your website files from your previous hosting server to your local computer.
4. If you have subscribed for a Unix-based plan (Personal Unix, Business Class Unix, Pro or eCommerce Unix), upload your website files to the /html directory of your web space with Aplus.Net: How do I upload my website with FTP software? Go to Step 6.
5. If you have subscribed for a Windows-based plan (Personal Windows, Business Class Windows, Pro Windows, eCommerce Windows), upload your website files to the WWWROOT directory of your web space with Aplus.Net. How do I upload my website with FTP software? Go to Step 6.
6. Point your domain to our nameservers: ns1.abac.com and ns2.abac.com. Please have in mind that DNS changes usually take 24-72 hours to propagate.

Note: Nameservers are controlled by the Registrar of the domain name. If your domain is registered with Aplus.Net/Names4Ever.Com, here is how to update its nameservers:
