how do i sign for the domain guard service if i have already registered my domain with aplus.net?

Answer by: George Kaloyanov, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Domain Guard is a service available for your .com or .net domain name registration. Domain Guard sends you notification via e-mail if somebody registers names similar to your domain name. You may also choose to "guard" any .com or .net domain, regardless of whether you own the domain or not.

For example:  If you choose to "guard" for names similar to Aplus.Net, the Domain Guard service will notify you if somebody registers aplushosting.com.

Here’s how to sign for the Domain Guard plan:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select the Domain Names menu located in the Buy Services section of your web control panel.
  3. Select Domain Guard.
  4. Use the sign-up form to select your billing period.
  5. Enter the domain that you’d like to “guard” using the Domain Name field.
  6. Click the Proceed to Finalize Order button to see a confirmation of the service that you are about to sign for.
  7. Finally, click the Finalize Order button if you are satisfied with the billing period and the domain name that you’ve selected
