How do I set up Gallery2 on my website?

Gallery2 is a web based software product that lets you manage your photos on your own website. It is an open source project with the goal to develop and support leading photo sharing web application solutions. The official Gallery2 website is http://www.gallery2.org/.

Gallery2 is available for installation through the Control Panel for the following shared hosting plans:

Business Class Unix
Pro Unix
eCommerce Unix
Pro Windows
eCommerce Windows

Here is how to install Gallery2:

Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
Now, select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
Click on the Design tab.
Click the Gallery2 icon.
Enter your gallery administrator’s password in the respective fields.

Note: The forum administrator username matches your main FTP username by default.

Select your gallery contact email address.
Gallery2 uses a MySQL database. Please choose a database from your existing ones using the respective drop-down menu.

Note: The tool will suggest the optimal database but you have the full control to select which one should be used for the installation.

Choose the Install location of your Gallery2 using the respective radio buttons. You have two options here:

To install Gallery2 in your main /html directory. The gallery homepage URL would be: http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery2/
To install Gallery2 in a subdomain of your domain name (in this case you can also modify the subdomain name from gallery2 to whatever name you like). The gallery homepage URL would be: http://gallery2.yourdomain.com

Note: Please replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual hosted domain name.

Finally, click on Install.
