E-mail
account creation, configuration, and settings differ depending on your
type of account with Aplus.Net.
*Important:
The instructions in this document apply to the following types of
service plans:
- Hosting
plans created before August 2002.
You
will first need to create the email box in your Aplus.Net account.
Here’s how:
- Start
by logging into your account control panel at http://www.aplus.net/login.html
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Click
on the View / Edit Plan Details link.
- Under
the E-mail account heading, click the Add
button.
- Enter
your desired e-mail address and password.
- Click
Save to create this e-mail account.
To
access your emails, you can either use the Aplus.Net Webmail service or
a local email client, such as Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook,
Mozilla, Netscape, Eudora, etc.
I.
WEBMAIL SERVICE:
- Go
to http://mail1.abac.com.
- Enter
your entire email address in the Login
Name text field. Type your password in
the respective text field and click Enter.
II.
LOCAL EMAIL CLIENT – GENERIC SETTINGS:
- Account
type: POP3.
- Account
name (Username): your entire email address,
including @yourdomain.com.
- Password:
the password that you set when you created your email box.
- Incoming
mail server: mail1.abac.com.
- Outgoing
mail server: Use the SMTP server provided by your Internet Service
Provider (ISP). This is the easiest option because no other
configuration is necessary. Please note that some Internet Providers
will force you to use their SMTP servers, in which case, you will not
be able to use ours.
NOTE:
If your Internet Provider doesn’t provide SMTP servers, you
can use the Aplus.Net Outgoing Mail Server. Please make sure to use the
settings below:
- Outgoing
Mail Server: smtp2.abac.com.
- Outgoing
(SMTP) mail port: 587.
- Authentication:
Use the username and password specified in steps 2
