How do I park a domain using the Aplus.Net Control Panel?

Answer by: Andy Hickl, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Domain Parking allows you to associate a registered domain with a single temporary webpage without having to set up a hosting plan. If you’ve registered your domain, but are not yet ready to have it hosted on a full hosting plan, you should set up domain parking to let Internet users know some basic information about your site.

Aplus.Net offers three kinds of domain parking:

  • Free Parking associates your domain with a page that says “This site under construction". This service is provided free to customers who have registered a domain with Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com.
  • Sale Parking associates your domain with a page that offers the domain name for sale and includes basic contact information that buyers can use to get in touch with you, the seller.  This service costs $2.99 per year.
  • Business Parking associates your domain with a single page that provides basic information about your company. This service costs $14.99 per year.

If you have an Aplus.Net registration number associated with your domain registration, you can use the Aplus.Net Control Panel to set up domain parking for your domain.

Here’s how:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select the Domain Names menu located in the Buy Services section of your web control panel.
  3. Select Domain Parking. Select the type of parking that you need and click the respective Sign up Now button.
  4. Aplus.Net only permits Domain Parking to be created for domains that are currently registered with Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com. If your domain is already registered with Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com, select the domain name from the Use available domains drop down menu, skip to step 7. If your domain is registered with another registrar, select the Register New Domain radio button, and then the Domain Transfer radio button. This will initiate a transfer of your domain from your current registrar to Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com. If you want to register a new domain that is currently available, please select the Register New Domain radio button, and then the Domain Registration radio button.

Important: All new domain name registration/transfer sales are final and not refundable.

  1. Enter the domain name into the Domain Name field.
  2. Enter a domain password into the Password fields.
  3. Click Proceed to Finalize Order to finish the set-up process. Click Cancel to escape.
