BLOG,
or web-LOG, is basically a journal that is
available on the Web. Wordpress is an easy-to-use weblog system,
providing numerous features
like categories, ratings, as well as custom plugin installation.
Through
the multi-user feature that Wordpress offers, visitors can also publish
on the Web having different access levels.
Here’s
how to set up Wordpress on your website:
- Start
by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Select
Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
select Hosted Domains and click on Manage
Hosted Domains.
- Now,
select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
- Click
on the Design tab.
- Click
the Wordpress icon.
- Enter
your administrator’s password in the respective text field.
- Re-enter
the same password for confirmation.
- Type
a valid email address. This is your administrator email address where
you will receive notifications about new entries and comments.
- Wordpress
uses a MySQL database. Please choose a database from your existing
ones using the respective drop-down menu.
Note:
The tool will suggest the optimal database but you have the full
control to select which one should be used for the installation.
- Choose
the Install location of your Wordpress using
the respective radio buttons. You have two options here:
- To
install Wordpress in your main /html
directory. The Wordpress Homepage URL would be: http://www.yourdomain.com/wordpress/
- To
install Wordpress in a subdomain of your domain name (in this
case you can also modify the subdomain name from wordpress
to whatever name you like). The Wordpress Homepage URL would be: http://wordpress.yourdomain.com
Note:
Please replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual
hosted domain name.
- Finally,
click the Install button.
You
can now use the Administer
and View
links to start working with your Wordpress blog. An
extensive Wordpress documentation and help section is available here:
