Question categories:  eBay Connector

how do I enable the auto-update ebay listings option?

Answer by:  George Kaloyanov, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

If you enable the Auto-Update eBay Listings option, the eBay Connector™ module will automatically update your eBay listing every time you update one of your Miva product's name, price or description. If you make any changes to your product’s name, price or description in Miva, this information will automatically get updated on eBay.

Important: Since eBay does not allow an Item's Name (Title), Price and Description to be changed once listed, the actual update is achieved by initially removing your item from eBay, and then re-listing it again. Since there are various types of listings at eBay, different effects arise when an item is removed from eBay:

  • If you have listed your item in a Chinese Auction (a single item in a Standard Auction), the current high bidder becomes the winning bidder. If there are no bidders, your item will be ended as an unsuccessful auction.
  • In a Dutch Auction (multiple items in a Standard Auction), current high bidders become the winning bidders and are computed using the normal Dutch auction logic. If there are no bidders, your auction will be ended as an unsuccessful auction.
  • When a Fixed-Price Auction is ended, all previous transactions are considered valid.

Important: If you do not have an Aplus.Net’s hosting plan and bought the Aplus.Net’s eBay Connector™ module from MivaCentral.Com, please login to your Miva administration pages with your current hosting provider and skip to Step 7.

Here’s how to enable the Auto-Update eBay Listings Option:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Now, select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
  5. Click on the Marketing tab.
  6. Finally, select the eBay Connector™ from the body of the following page. You will be redirected to the Miva Administration pages.

Note: Make sure your Miva Administration is set to Advanced Administration Mode.

  1. Now, click on the arrow next to Stores located in the left panel of the Miva Administration screen.
  2. Next, click on the arrow next to the name of your Miva Merchant store to view the available options.
  3. Click on the utilities option of your store.
  4. Make sure that the eBay Connector™ check box is checked.
  5. Click on the eBay link located in the Modules section of the Store Utility Configuration screen.
  6. Next, check the Auto-Update eBay listings checkbox.
  7. Finally, click the Update button to apply the change.

Note: These instructions assume you already have your Miva Store created, your eBay Connector™ module installed and configured:
