how do I create / extract an archive using the File manager tool?

Answer by: Stuart Pierce, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

With the File Manager tool available in the Aplus.Net Control Panel, you can create / extract an archive in ZIP format of a file or directory.

Here’s how to create / extract an archive:

  1. Log into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net with your registration number and customer password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Now, select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
  5. Click on the File Manager-New icon.
  6. Use the left directory panel to browse to the directory that contains the file/directory that you’d like to archive.
  7. Right-click a file or directory in order to use the management menu and click on Add to ZIP. The archive will be created in the current directory adding to the file/directory name the server date/time and the .zip extension (for example: the file id1.html would  be archived to id1.html-2007-01-26-09-20-23.zip).

  1. When extracting an archive, you have the following options:
