How do I create an archive of my website using the Aplus.Net Control Panel?

Answer by: Andy Hickl, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

The Archive Manager creates .zip, .tar or .tar.gz files from directories in your webspace.

Note: .tar and .tar.gz archives are supported with the Unix-based hosting plans only.

Here’s how to use the Archive Manager tool:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Now, select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
  5. Click the Archive Manager icon.
  6. Select the directory that you’d like to archive from the drop-down menu.

Note: Please have in mind that you will see in the drop-down list only directories which do not have more than five subdirectories. This limitation is set for performance reasons.

  1. Select the archive file format and compression using the respective radio buttons.
  2. Click the Create Archive button.
  3. You will receive a confirmation message containing the exact filename of the new archive.
  4. Select your already created archive using the Select an archive drop-down menu.
  5. Click the Download button to save the archive on your local computer.
