Question categories:  Domain Registration

how do I change the domain name associated with my domain guard using the aplus.net control panel?

Answer by: George Kaloyanov, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Domain Guard is a service available for your .com or .net domain name registration. Domain Guard sends you notification via e-mail if somebody registers names similar to your domain name. You may also choose to "guard" any .com or .net domain, regardless of whether you own the domain or not.

For example:  If you choose to "guard" for names similar to Aplus.Net, the Domain Guard service will notify you if somebody registers aplushosting.com.

Here’s how to change the domain name associated with your Domain Guard plan:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Domains from the top navigation bar and click on the Domain Services submenu.
  3. Select the Domain Guard plan that you’d like to manage.
  4. Click the Edit Keywords icon.
  5. Enter the domain name that you want to be “guarded” using the Keywords field.
  6. Click Modify to save your changes.
