You
can use the Aplus.Net Control Panel to change the username associated
with an existing e-mail account.
If
you change the name of an existing e-mail account, the old name will
become inactive immediately. Messages that are sent to the old name
will be returned to their senders, unless an e-mail forwarder is
set up to transfer messages from the old name to the new name. Please
be sure to change the name of the e-mail account in your e-mail client
as well – login attempts using the old username will not be
successful.
Changing
the name of an e-mail account only changes the name of the pointer
used to access messages stored on your server. Messages
that were stored on the server under the old e-mail name will still
be accessible using the new e-mail account.
In
addition, changing the name of the e-mail account does not affect
the status of the account’s password. To
change the password associated with an e-mail account, please use
the Change Email Password tool.
Here’s
how to change the name of an existing e-mail account:
- Start by logging into
the Aplus.Net Web Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using
your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Select the Emails link
from the top navigation bar.
- Next, select Email
Boxes and click on Manage Email Boxes.
- Click on the e-mail account
that you’d like to manage.
- Click the Edit Email icon.
- Enter the new e-mail
address into the eMail Address field.
- Click Modify to
submit your changes. Click Cancel to escape.
