Aplus.Net
offers for installation a Live Chat tool which original name
is ChaNT. It is a web chat application featuring multiple user
registration, personal messages and a rich user interface.
Here
is how you can access the administrative panel of the Live Chat through
the Control Panel:
- Start
by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Select
Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
select Hosted Domains and click on Manage
Hosted Domains.
- Now,
select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
- Click
on the Design tab.
- Click
on the Live Chat icon.
- Click
the Administer link.
You
have the following sections available in the Live Chat
administration:
I. Users -
you will see here a list of all registered users who are able to use
the chat. Please have in mind that you are not able to add new
users through the administration. New users register by clicking the Sign Up button at
the home page of the Live Chat: http://yourdomain.com/livechat/.
You
have the following two options in the Users section:
- Ban - will not allow the respective username to login
into the Live Chat.
- Del - will remove the respective username entirely.
II. Messages
- you will
see here the last messages sent to the chat. Their number could be 100
at most. When this number is exceeded, the oldest messages are
automatically saved to a history file in CSV format.
- You can force messages to be saved to a history file
by clicking on the Purge
messages link.
- By selecting History date and
clicking the Download button,
you can save to your local computer all messages from the specified
date.
- You can also remove individual messages from your
Live Chat webpage by clicking on the respective red X's found in the Delete column.
III. Config - here
are the general settings of the Live Chat. You can change the following
options:
- Admin
username.
- Admin
password.
- Chat
name - this is the title of the Live Chat webpage.
- Default
Style.
- GZIP
encoding - this option should
be disabled because of compatibility issues.
- Security
code - it appears at the user registration page. Enable this option in
order to prevent spam bots from registering.
