How do i add a product to my miva merchant store?

You can create an unlimited number of products with your Miva Merchant. Once a product is created, it can be assigned to a category. Each product can be assigned to multiple categories. If a product is left unassigned, it will still be visible to your visitors in the Product List section of the storefront.

Important: The following screenshots and instructions apply to Unix-based, eCommerce Unix plans using Miva 5.

How to add a Product to your Miva Merchant store:

1. Login into your Miva Admin Panel at http://yourdomain.com/mm5/admin.mvc using the Main FTP Username and FTP Password of your eCommerce Unix shared hosting plan.

Note: If you are in the Simple Administration mode, switch to Advanced Administration mode.

2. Expand the Stores menu.

3. Then, expand your Miva Store.

4. Click the Add link located next to Products.

5. Enter the new Product details:
1. Product Code: Enter a code for your product. The product code must be unique within your entire store. It can include letters, numbers, dashes and underscores. The product code can be up to 50 characters long, but we strongly recommend to keep it as short as possible.
2. Product Name: Enter a name for your product. The name can be up to 100 characters long. It can include Upper-case and lower-case letters, along with numbers, spaces and symbols.
3. Category Code: Specify a category in which this product will be listed. You can enter the Category Code directly, or select it from a list by clicking Look Up. You can later add this product to multiple categories from the Categories management screen.
4. Price: Enter the price of the product.
5. Cost: Specify the exact cost value of your product. You can choose to leave the cost at 0, if you are not planning to use any special offers based on the actual cost of the product.
6. Weight: Enter the weight of the product including any required packaging. This value is used in shipping fee calculations.
7. Description: Enter a description for your product. The description can be as long as you like and you can use plain text or HTML code.
8. Taxable: Select taxable if this product is subject to tax. Whether a product is taxable or not depends on your country and jurisdiction. Check with your accountant or tax attorney for specific information.
9. Active: Check this box if you want the product to appear in your Miva Merchant Store. Uncheck this box if you want to hide the product but still keep it in your Miva Store database.

6. Click Add to create the Product or click Add+ to create the Product and start creating a new one.

Additional Options:

• Images: Specify a thumbnail and full-sized image for your product.
• Header & Footer: Each product can have unique header and footer. HTML code is supported.
• Related Products (visible once the product is created): Related products are items you suggest to a shopper, as they are viewing a product. Related items are displayed on the product screen, after the main product.
• Attributes (visible once the product is created): An attribute is a feature or option associated with a product. It could be an attribute that is an essential part of the product, like size or color.
• Upsold Products: View and edit the products that will be offered at checkout, when a shopper is purchasing the selected product.
