how do i add a photo album to my site using websitecerator?

Answer by: Stuart Pierce, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Aplus.Net WebsiteCreator is a simple-to-use content management tool which offers many template choices and a short, step-by-step design process. Best of all, no HTML skills are required to build and maintain a professional looking website.

With WebsiteCreator, you can also add a Photo Album to your site. Please have in mind that the Photo Album feature is included with the following plans only:

  • WebsiteCreator Full Version
  • WebsiteCreator eCommerce Version

Here are the general steps to add and maintain a Photo Album:

I. ACCESS THE WEBSITECREATOR:

  1. Start by logging to your Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration number and Customer password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Select the hosted domain name that you’d like to manage.
  5. Click the Design tab.
  6. Now, click the WSC Website Builder icon.

Important: You will have to activate your Free WebsiteCreator plan if not activated yet. Please allow up to 60 minutes for the activation process. Return to the WSC Website Builder tool once your new plan is activated.

  1. Click on the administer link associated with your current WebsiteCreator service plan. You will be automatically logged into your WebsiteCreator.

II. SETUP THE PHOTO ALBUM:

  1. Click on the Extras tab from the top navigation bar.
  2. Next, select Photo Album from the menu on the left and click the Create new photo album link.
  3. Choose a design layout for your album from the available templates on the left.
  4. Now, click on the Properties tab.
  5. Enter a title for the album in the Photo album name text field.
  6. You may choose to password protect your album now. Check the Activate box and enter a password for accessing the album.

Note: You will not be able to save your album before you add at least one image to it.

III. UPLOADING IMAGES:

  1. Click on the Select images tab from the top navigation bar.
  2. Click on the Upload image link and then browse to the image file on your local computer. The uploaded images are stored in the Media database. Click on a particular image to add it to your album. Once added to the album, you can sort the images using the up and down arrows.
  3. Click next. In the Image title section you can define names for the pictures in your albums. Click next when ready.
  4. Now, you are once again in the Properties section. Click save to complete the album creation.
  5. You can always go back to the Select images section and upload more pictures.

IV. PUBLISHING THE PHOTO ALBUM:

  1. Once the creation of your photo album is completed, click on the Deploy link.
  2. Click Publish. Your album will appear with its title in the Navigation of your homepage.
