Aplus.Net email services are compatible
with portable devices such as mobile phones, Pocket PC’s and PDA’s.
In other words, you can use your portable device to send and receive
messages through your Aplus.Net email account. The supported Operation
Systems for these devices include Symbian OS, Palm OS, and Windows
CE. Furthermore, Aplus.Net supports both POP3 and IMAP access to
the mail servers.
The example below refers to a Symbian
OS device with UIQ user interface, particularly the
Sony Ericsson P910i model. Other companies using the UIQ interface
are BenQ and Motorola. Symbian OS is also available with the Series
60 user interface (Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, Sendo, and Siemens)
and the Series 80 user interface (Nokia Communicators 9210,
9300, 9500).
Note: It is required that your portable
device has a configured Internet connection.
- Start
by going to the Control Panel and choose the Connections tab.
- Then,
click on Messaging Accounts.
- Select
the Email tab and click on New.
- In
the Basic tab specify the following settings:
- Account
name: choose a name for your account, for example Aplus.Net.
- Your
name: type your name.
- Email
address: type your full email address.
- Connection
type: choose POP3.
- Internet
account: select the internet access point of your mobile operator.
- Select
the Inbox tab and specify the following settings:
- User
name: type your full email address.
- Password: type the password for your email account.
- Incoming
server address: type mail.yourdomain.com (Please replace
“yourdomain.com” with your actual hosted domain name).
- Select
the Outbox tab and specify the following settings:
- Outgoing
server address: type smtp.yourdomain.com (Please replace
“yourdomain.com” with your actual hosted domain name).
- Use
SMTP authentication: check this box.
- Use
Inbox login details: check this box.
- Select
the Advanced tab and specify the following settings:
- Secure
connection: leave this unchecked.
- Outgoing
mail port: type 587.
- Use
MIME encoding: leave this unchecked.
- Incoming
mail port: type 110.
- Secure
password authentication: leave this unchecked.
- Click Done to
save the settings.
Important: Aplus.Net mail servers support
also the IMAP protocol. In order to use IMAP on your email
account you have to change the following settings:

d. Connection type: choose IMAP.

d. Incoming mail port: type 993.
All other settings remain the same.
