how do i use my aplus.net email account on a symbian based portable device?

Answer by: Stuart Pierce, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

Aplus.Net email services are compatible with portable devices such as mobile phones, Pocket PC’s and PDA’s. In other words, you can use your portable device to send and receive messages through your Aplus.Net email account. The supported Operation Systems for these devices include Symbian OS, Palm OS, and Windows CE. Furthermore, Aplus.Net supports both POP3 and IMAP access to the mail servers.

The example below refers to a Symbian OS device with UIQ user interface, particularly the Sony Ericsson P910i model. Other companies using the UIQ interface are BenQ and Motorola. Symbian OS is also available with the Series 60 user interface (Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, Sendo, and Siemens) and the Series 80 user interface (Nokia Communicators 9210, 9300, 9500).

Note: It is required that your portable device has a configured Internet connection.
