Aplus.Net email services are compatible
with portable devices such as mobile phones, Pocket PC’s and PDA’s.
In other words, you can use your portable device to send and receive
messages through your Aplus.Net email account. The supported Operation
Systems for these devices include Symbian OS, Palm OS, and Windows
CE. Furthermore, Aplus.Net supports both POP3 and IMAP access to
the mail servers.
The example below refers to a Palm OS based
portable device with VersaMail email client software.
Note: It is required that your portable
device has a configured Internet connection.
- Start
by launching VersaMail on your handheld device.
- Then,
open the Menu option.
- From
the Accounts menu, select Account Setup.
- Tap New and
specify the following settings:
- Account
name: choose a name for your account, for example Aplus.Net.
- Mail
Service: select Other.
- Protocol: choose POP3 (instructions for the IMAP protocol
follow below).
- Tap Next and
specify the following settings:
- User
name: type your full email address.
- Password: type the password for your email account.
- Tap Next and
specify the following settings:
- Email
Address: type your full email address.
- Incoming
server address: type mail.yourdomain.com (Please replace
“yourdomain.com” with your actual hosted domain name).
- Outgoing
server address: type smtp.yourdomain.com (Please replace
“yourdomain.com” with your actual hosted domain name).
- Tap Next.
- Tap Next again
to set additional mail options.
- At
the Incoming Mail Options specify the following settings:
- Get
unread mail ONLY: for use with the IMAP protocol only. Check
this box, if you want to download only unread mail to your portable
device. With the POP3 protocol all mail messages are downloaded
from the server regardless of whether this box is checked.
- Delete
messages on the server when they are deleted in VersaMail: check
this box, if you do not want to keep your messages on the server
when deleted in VersaMail.
- Leave

if you want to leave a copy of the downloaded messages on the
server.
- Port

- Use
secure connection (SSL): leave this unchecked (when using the
POP3 protocol).
- Maximum
message size: you can limit the maximum size (in KB) of an incoming
mail message. The default is 5 KB. The maximum message size that
you can retrieve is 60 KB for the body text and approximately
5 megabytes (MB) of total data for any attachments.
- Tap Next to
set the Outgoing Mail Settings:
- Display
name: type the name you want to appear on your outgoing messages.
- Reply
To Address: Enter the email address that you want recipients
to see and reply to on your email messages, only if this is different
from the email address from which you are sending the message.
- Bcc
a copy of outgoing messages: check this box, if you want to
send a blind copy of any email message you send to another email
address. The blind copy email address is not seen by the other
recipients of the message.

to set the Advanced Outgoing Options:
- Port
