Web-A-Photo for TiVo® is a feature of Web-A-Photo that enables viewing of still photographs using TiVo digital video recorders. It is a product of Aplus.Net Internet Services developed using tools and techniques available to third party developers from TiVo Inc and it allows a Web-a-Photo user to display internet based photos on a local TV screen. There are two options for you to choose from on how to use Web-a-Photo for TiVo. Both are free services included with each Web-a-Photo.Com account. You can either use a Web-a-Photo for TiVo desktop application which has to be installed on your computer connected to the same home network as your TiVo Digital Video Recorder. Or, you can use your TiVo Digital Video Recorder to connect to a public TiVo server where you can setup your Web-a-Photo account.

Instructions on how to install and use the Web-a-Photo for TiVo service follow below. Please note that in order to be able to use the Web-a-Photo for TiVo service, you must have a TiVo Box connected to your computer that can run 3^rd party applications. You must also have the most recent TiVo updates (version 7.2.2) – if you do not, then none of the newest services will be listed on your TiVo menu.

*HOW TO GET THE MOST RECENT TIVO VERSION:

First, check to see what version you have:

Go to your TiVo menu, and click Settings.
Click Account System Information.
Click System Information.

You will see a display which shows the TiVo version, your TiVo Serial Number, etc.
If you do not have the 7.2.2 version, then write down your TiVo Serial Number a.k.a. TiVo Service Number (example: 240-0000-112A-112B).
Go to http://research.tivo.com/72.2priority/ and enter the number you wrote down in the field at the bottom of the page. Once you submit your Service Number, you are placed in a queue, and it may take anywhere from a few hours to 3 business days until you receive the update.

*HOW TO INSTALL AND USE WEB-A-PHOTO FOR TIVO.

I. WITH THE WEB-A-PHOTO FOR TIVO DESKTOP APPLICATION:

Download and install the latest version of the Web-a-Photo for TiVo application from: http://www.web-a-photo.com/support/Web-a-Photo.exe
Start the Web-a-Photo for TiVo application. Go to: Start -> All Programs -> Web-a-Photo -> Web-a-Photo TiVo
Enter your Web-a-Photo Account Login Information and click Login. The Web-a-Photo for TiVo application will launch on your TiVo. You have also two additional options available:

Save login information – check this box, if you want to store the current login details for future use.
Select from existing accounts – check this box and then use the drop-down to select a particular account.

Note: It is not necessary to enter a valid Web-a-Photo Email Address and Password (you can also leave these fields blank). However, if you supply valid login information, it will be stored for future use in the application’s account database. You will be also able to switch between different Web-a-Photo accounts once the application is activated.

Open your main TiVo navigation screen. Select Photos, Music, and More… and then click on the Web-a-Photo button.

Important: You have to enable your TiVo to run 3^rd party applications, otherwise the Web-a-Photo TiVo application won’t run on your TiVo box.

At this point the following options are available:

If at step 3 you have entered valid Web-a-Photo account login information, the specified account will be activated and the login data will be stored in your Users List.
If at step 3 you have entered incorrect Web-a-Photo account login information, you will receive an error message and an option to select a Web-a-Photo account from your current Users List.
If at step 3 you have not entered any login information, click Login and enter your Web-a-Photo account login information using the virtual keyboard on your TV screen, or select an active user from your Users List.

Once logged in, you will see all your Web-a-Photo albums. Using the remote control’s Arrows and Select button, choose the album which contains the photos you would like to display. Albums that are marked with the “F” icon are shared with you by other Web-a-Photo users.
You will see your pictures in thumbnail view. Select the picture you would like to display. The selected picture should be displayed on your TV Screen. Try the other features displayed on the menu bar on the left, such as zooming, rotating, e-mailing photos, etc.

II. WITH THE APPS.TV TIVO SERVER:

Press the TiVo button on your TiVo remote control.
Select Music, Photos & More.
Scroll down and select Manually add a server…
Use the number keys on your remote control to add the following IP address: 209.97.196.52.
Select Add server to list.
Press Left on your remote to return to the “Music, Photos & More” screen.
You will see a new entry which you have to select: apps.tv Subscription Manager.
Next, select Browse Apps.
Now, select Web-a-Photo.
Select Login and enter your Web-a-Photo account login information using the virtual keyboard on your TV screen, or select an active user from your Users List.
Once logged in, you will see all your Web-a-Photo albums. Using the remote control’s Arrows and Select button, choose the album which contains the photos you would like to display. Albums that are marked with the “F” icon are shared with you by other Web-a-Photo users.
You will see your pictures in thumbnail view. Select the picture you would like to display. The selected picture should be displayed on your TV Screen.
