How can I setup my FrontPage form so that when I receive the results by e-mail, the From field shows the senders address and not username.servername?

Answer by: Frédérique Taillefer, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

You can set up FrontPage Forms to send data entered by users by e-mail. You can specify the recipient e-mail address, and also configure the Form to capture the users’ e-mail address and enter it in the “From” field of the e-mail message. For this reason you will need your Form to include a text field which requires users to enter their email address.

Here is how to do that in the FrontPage interface:

  1. Right-click the e-mail form field and select Form Field Properties.
  2. Copy (or make a note of) the contents of the Name text field.
  3. Next, right-click your FrontPage Form, and select Form Properties.
  4. Click Options and select the E-mail Results tab.
  5. Enter the recipient e-mail address where you want the results of the Form to be sent to.
  6. In the Reply-to line field, enter the name of the field that you copied earlier in Step 2 (NOTE: field names are case sensitive).
  7. Make sure that the Form field name box is checked.
  8. Click OK twice.
