Question categories:  Counter

How can I set my counter to display something other than 1 when I create it?

Answer by: Stuart Pierce, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support.

When you initially install the Aplus.Net counter on your site, it will automatically be set to the number 1. If you are installing the counter on a site that is not a new one, you would probably want it to show some other number. It is done easily through your Aplus.Net Control Panel.

Here’s how:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Now, select the hosted domain that you’d like to manage.
  5. Click on the Design tab.
  6. Next, click the Counter icon.
  7. Under the Manage existing counters heading, select the counter that you would like to customize using the drop-down menu.
  8. In the adjacent text field, enter the starting value that you would like to set your counter to, and then click Modify Count. Your counter will start incrementing from the number you typed the next time someone visits your page.
