How can I rename my MySQL database?

The MySQL database name is something that cannot be changed. The first MySQL database that you create with your hosting plan will be set to match your Main FTP Username. The additional MySQL databases that you might create, will be named using the Main FTP Username too

Example: If your main FTP username is “johndoe” and you have created 3 MySQL databases, they will be named as follows:

  • First Database (Main MySQL Database) – Both the MySQL Database Name and MySQL Database Username will be set to: johndoe
  • Second Database – Both the MySQL Database Name and MySQL Database Username will be set to: johndoe-1
  • Third Database – Both the MySQL Database Name and MySQL Database Username will be set to: johndoe-2
