The
Archive Manager tool will make a single
archive file in .zip, .tar or .tar.gz format that will contain all of
the files in the directory you select.
Note:
.tar and .tar.gz archives are supported with the Unix-based hosting
plans only.
You
can use archived files as backups. If you make
changes to your site, but then decide you do not care for the changes,
you can retrieve the old files from the archive.
When
you create an archive, it will use the current time and date for the
filename. The archive file will also be smaller than the total size of
your files because the data is automatically compressed as the archive
is created.
To
access the Archive Manager in the Aplus.Net Control Panel:
- Log
in at http://cp.aplus.net
with your registration number and customer password.
- Select
Web Hosting from the main menu.
- Next,
select Hosted Domains and click on Manage
Hosted Domains.
- Select
the name of the Domain for which you would like to create an archive.
Note:
If your actual domain name does not yet resolve to
Aplus.Net’s servers, you must use your utility domain
(yourftpusername.web.aplus.net) that is associated with your Unix-based
hosting plan
- Select
the Archive Manager icon.
- Select
the directory/folder that you’d like to archive.
Note:
Please have in mind that you will see in the drop-down list only
directories which do not have more than five subdirectories. This
limitation is set for performance reasons.
- Select
the archive file format and compression using the respective radio
buttons.
- Click
the Create Archive button.
