Determining browser type using object detection

In a perfect world, Netscape and IE would co-exist together, with both browsers supporting a fully unified set of objects and elements.

However, because Netscape and IE will probably never fully embrace each other's unique technology, we need to compensate for both. What this means to JavaScript programmers is that browser-type detection code will have to be added to scripts.
