Can I view my site before I switch my domain over to your server?

Answer by: Andy Hickl, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Yes, you can: this is exactly why we provide the utility domain.

The utility domain enables you to directly access the files associated with the primary domain hosted in yourweb space, regardless of the status of your registered domain names. When you enter the URL of your utility domain into a browser, you can access the web files hosted in the html/ directory. Additional domains (i.e. those that are “parked” in directories other than the main /html directory) are not accessible via the utility domain.

The URL of your utility domain depends on your main FTP username. All Aplus.Net utility domains follow the same general formula:

UNIX-based Plans: http://ftpusername.web.aplus.net
(Personal Unix, Business Class Unix, Pro, eCommerce Unix)

Windows-based Plans: http://ftpusername.win.aplus.net

(Personal Windows, Business Class Windows, Pro Windows, eCommerce Windows)
