can i use my mysql database with other web applications if i have already installed the phpbb or SMF forum?

Yes, you can use your MySQL database with other web applications installed on your shared hosting plan. The phpBB and SMF tables do not interfere with any other tables in your database.

Important: Do not delete the phpBB or SMF related database tables as your Forum may stop working properly. All phpBB related tables start with “phpBB_”. The prefix of the SMF tables is "smf_".
