Can I use htm extensions rather than html extensions?

Answer by: Kristen Jourdonais, Aplus.Net Knowledge Base Support

Yes, you can use either HTM or HTML as your web page extensions.

There is very little difference between HTM and HTML. The obvious difference is in the spelling. There is an L, or there is not an L. Other than that small difference, the two documents types are exactly the same. Both types may be used the same and both will be rendered the same in browsers.

Some hosting providers require that your index file extension is HTML. However, Aplus.Net will accept either HTM or HTML.
