Yes,
you can:
you
can associate any number of domain names with your web space.
There
are two common ways that this can be done with our hosting plans:
Domain
Hosting and URL Forwarding.
URL Forwarding:
URL
Forwarding takes a registered domain and “points”
it directly to a particular page (or directory).
For
example, URL Forwarding could take a misspelled or mistyped domain
(e.g. www.amazan.com)
and redirect it to the correct spelling of the domain name (e.g.
www.amazon.com). With URL Forwarding, only the primary name is
displayed in the Address Bar of the user’s browser
– the forwarded name disappears once the forwarding has taken
place.
URL
Forwarding costs $8.95 / year for each forwarded domain name.
To
set up URL Forwarding for your domain name:
- Start
by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
- Go
to Buy Services from the top navigation bar and
select Domain Names
>> URL Forwarding.
- Aplus.Net
only permits URL forwarders to be created for domains that are
currently registered with Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com. If your domain is
already registered with Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com, select the domain
name from the Use available domains drop down menu,
skip to step 7. If your domain is registered with another registrar,
select the Register New Domain radio button, and
then the Domain Transfer radio button. This will
initiate a transfer of your domain from your current registrar to
Aplus.Net / Names4Ever.com. If you want to register a new domain that
is currently available, please select the Register New Domain
radio button, and then the Domain
Registration radio button.
- Enter
the new domain name into the Domain Name field.
- Enter
a password for the forwarder into the Password
field.
- Enter
the URL that you would like to the domain forwarded to. This can be a
domain name, like http://www.aplus.net/
or a particular html page, such as http://www.aplus.net/index.html.
- Click
Proceed to Finalize Order to complete the
forwarder. Click Cancel to escape.
Domain Hosting:
Domain
Hosting takes a registered domain and associates it directly with the
web space that you lease with your hosting plan.
When
more than one domain is hosted on a particular web hosting plan, a parking
location must be specified for each domain.
In
most cases, the primary domain (that is, the domain that was hosted
first on the plan) will be associated with the main /html directory
found in the root of the web space.
When
a new domain gets hosted on an existing plan, a new directory (found in
the web space root) is created to hold the web content for the new
domain.
For
example, if a plan contains both aplus.net and aplus.com, the files for
the primary domain (aplus.net) will be stored in the main /html
directory, while the files for the secondary domain (aplus.com) will be
contained in a directory entitled aplus.com/.
You
can host certain number of domain names for free with each Unix-based
hosting plan:
- Personal
Unix
– 1 hosted domain name
- Business
Class Unix – 2 hosted domain names
- Pro
Unix– 2 hosted domain names
- eCommerce

additional domains costs $1.99 / month for each additional domain.
To
set up Domain Hosting for additional domains on your hosting plan:

off by checking that your domain’s name servers are pointed
to ns1.abac.com and ns2.abac.com.

servers have been set by default.
If
you registered your name with another company, please have them change
the name servers before proceeding with these instructions.
- Log
into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net
with your registration number and customer password.
- Select
Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
- Next,
