Can I edit, add, or drop fields found in my MySQL database tables using the Aplus.Net Control Panel?

Answer by: Stuart Pierce, Knowledge Base Support

You can use the MySQL Database Manager found on the Aplus.Net Control Panel to manually edit / add / drop fields in your database.

Here’s how:

  1. Start by logging into the Aplus.Net Control Panel at http://cp.aplus.net using your Registration Number and Customer Password.
  2. Select Web Hosting from the top navigation bar.
  3. Next, select Hosted Domains and click on Manage Hosted Domains.
  4. Now, select the domain name of the website that you’d like to edit.
  5. Click the MySQL Database Manager icon. You will be redirected to the administering interface of the phpmyadmin database manager. On the left-hand side you will see the name of the database (which is by default your main FTPusername), and the tables you currently have.
  6. To edit a field in a table, first click on the table name, and then click the icon in the “Action” section.
  7. To add a field in a table, first click on the table name. You will see below the table the Add field(s) line. Choose the location of the new field and click Go. On the next page specify the properties for the new field and click Save to finish.
  8. To drop a field from a table, first click on the table name, and then click the icon in the “Action” section.
